Chiara, una ragazza che ho conosciuto in fase di preparazione ha già dato spazio a questo lavoro nel suo stylosissimo blog.
Io ve lo ripropongo con qualche dettaglio in più.
Da quando ho scelto di essere una graphic designer, ho sempre immaginato che per il matrimonio che mi vedeva coprotagonista avrei creato qualcosa che rappresentasse noi sposi. A differenza di tutte le bambine che fin da piccole sognano l’abito dei loro desideri, la sottoscritta, oltre a questa, aveva altre aspettative da soddisfare: quelle grafiche. La natura del mio lavoro non mi ha facilitato la scelta, anzi, ogni idea mi sembrava sempre troppo banale per il matrimonio di una coppia di graphic designer.
La svolta c’è stata quando entrambi ci siamo sentiti davvero liberi di scegliere; la linea grafica, il tema e i colori in realtà erano già parte di noi. L’irlanda è stato lo spunto, il nostro nido al di là della Manica, che ha fatto da sfondo a tante nostre vacanze, ma soprattutto, alla promessa di sposarci. Il nostro amore per la natura e il design hanno coronato il tutto.
Da qui è stata una strada in discesa e la creazione delle partecipazioni è stato il punto di partenza dell’intero progetto.
Ho scelto una carta plike bianca gommata molto moderna abbinata a cartoncini verdi e color cioccolato. Partecipazioni e inviti sono stati accoppiati con una fascetta riportante un augurio in gaelico irlandese. Il tutto, insieme a dei piccoli quadrifogli fustellati a mano, è stato sigillato in una busta da un adesivo tondo.
Successivamente, con la stessa linea grafica, molta pazienza e kilometri di nastro sono stati realizzati: i menù per il ristorante, i libretti per la cerimonia, le mappe per gli invitati abbinate alle coccarde verdi, le tag per i segnaposto di plexi con confetti e pistacchi, il tableau, i cartellini per la confettata e i biglietti di ringraziamento abbinati alla bomboniera.
Rimanevano ancora due cose in sospeso: la confezione per il riso “da lancio” e il guestbook e per realizzarle entrambe ho preso spunto da alcuni progetti proposti anche da Martha Stewart.
Per il riso ho cercato una soluzione alternativa ai classici (e personalmente non troppo amati) coni. L’idea era sotto i miei occhi da tempo: dei sacchettini di pergamin o glassine paper riempiti di riso e quadrifogli. Una fascetta graficamente in linea con il resto ha completato la confezione cucita con filo verde dalle sapienti mani della nonna dello sposo.
Poco soddisfatta anche delle soluzioni di guestbook proposte, ho pensato di mettere a disposizione degli invitati dei bigliettini (ovviamente verdi) e delle bustine trasparenti. Per non ricadere sulla classica penna “infiorettata” ho scelto di rivestire una cinquantina di piccole matite con della carta acquistata a Dublino.
Tutto è stato pronto con un buon anticipo, d’altronde lavorare come freelance deve pur avere qualche vantaggio!
